CD & DVD Recovery

CD and DVD (optical media) recoveries are fairly straight forward.

Before bringing your optical media for data recovery, we suggest trying three things first.  First, clean the disc.  You will be surprised how many data recoveries are not needed because the disc has finger prints or dirt and just needs to be cleaned.  Second, try the disc in another computer.  Third, check other options for getting the data stored on the optical media.  For example, if you backed up photos to CD, see if you have the original photos stored somewhere else.  Another example would be, if your original program install CD is scratched, see if you can download the installer from the internet or get another CD from the manufacture.

If those attempts fail, optical media recovery is generally successful for any non-damaged (scratched) parts of the disc.
